Well, with the help of modern technology like cell phone, laptop and internet, I do lots of things that I would never do 10 years ago. For instance, I shop on line a lot. With just a click of the button, the next moment you know, your order is delivered right at your door. It is also easy to compare the prices offered by different on-line stores and get a bargain. However, 10 years ago, technology was not so advanced that there were not so many on-line stores where people could shop around and people depended on the traditional way of shopping.（新东方 孟炎）

Ten years ago, I would never expect to spend a year abroad in the U.S. as an exchange student, living with the local family ,attending public school, and experiencing the life of being an American teenager. One of the most unexpected experiences was my independent graduation trip to California with my friends. We took a flight from Chicago to San Francisco, walked through the beaches with bare foot in ihe freezing water, enjoyed the sunshine and breeze, took photos with the Golden gate Bridge, drove to the University of California Berkeley and finally went north towards LA-spending 3 days in fancy Disneyland. I booked all the tickets and hotels, rented the cart and did researches on special scenery and food places that wc shouldn't miss along the road. When I was really young, I never expected myself to be so mature and responsible at the age of 17.

① I got a scholarship and an opportunity to go to the US as an exchange student on behalf of the university this year because I worked so hard that to achieve this dreamy target not only in academic performance but also in the area of social volunteer work or other competitions to let myself better;

② The reason why I never imagined I would do is due to the hard economic burden on my family although I had this dream for a long time.
